Current Projects
1. Embodying Emotion in Interaction: A Biocultural-Linguistic Study of Communication and Physiology
- This project is a collaborative effort with researchers in Anthropology where we record romantic partners interacting in their homes while measuring biophysical activity. We see how people co-construct and co-regulate communication and physical activities through everyday talk.
2. Romantic partners and political communication.
- Dr. Peacocok and I are analyzing data to see how romantic partner communication about politics affects political participation and relational well-being.
3. Communal coping and relational load during unemployment.
- In a collaboration with Dr. Crowley (University of Tennessee) we are exploring how romantic partners cope with unemployment.
4. The communicative processes of families coping with bullying: Toward a model of communal repair.
- This project involves analyzing conversations between parents and middle-school aged children about how to respond and cope with bullying experiences.
